Pilar Alvarez: Graphic Designer/Illustrator/Painter

Almost born on a train between Barcelona and Madrid and raised somewhere between Canada and Spain, Pilar (Pili) Alvarez began her career as a tattoo artist and fashion student. This began a journey into designing costumes for events all across the country…however, sewing soon became the bane of her existence.

During her fashion studies, Pilar’

s psychotic obsession with illustration soon evolved into acrylic painting and computer art. Her paintings have since appeared in several solo exhibitions and group shows alongside other legendary pop-art and lowbrow artists.

Pili has been a regular contributor to such venues as The Tart Gallery and has a long history of exhibiting with The Pop Tarts. She has also starred in several short films and music videos, and her work is featured in the Bravo documentary ‘The Lowdown on Lowbrow’.

Pilar’s professional career has also expanded into many commercial arenas such as commissioned paintings, murals, screen-prints, cd covers, flyers, tattoos, packaging, digital photography, promotional programs, websites, and anything else anybody wants sprinkled with beauty.
